- Stove make and model matches what is on the permit application
- Installation location matches the approved site sketch
B β Wall & Ceiling Clearances

C β Hearth Pad (Floor Protection)
- Hearth pad material is non-combustible (tile, stone, brick, or listed pad)
- Front extension from firebox opening edge (not stove body): _____ in. (need β₯16 in.)

- No single-wall stovepipe passes through a wall, ceiling, closet, or attic space
- Connection at stove collar is tight and seated correctly
- Connection at thimble/chimney is secure β no gaps
E β Chimney System
- Class A (all-fuel) chimney used for all ceiling/attic/roof penetrations β no single-wall in these areas
- All chimney sections are from the same listed manufacturer β no mixing brands
- 2-inch clearance maintained between chimney and all combustible framing throughout attic
- Listed ceiling support box or thimble at transition from stovepipe to Class A
- Chimney properly supported β not relying on stovepipe to hold weight
- Chimney extends β₯3 ft above highest roof penetration point
- Chimney top is β₯2 ft above any obstruction within 10 horizontal feet
- Chimney cap installed
- Roof flashing is sealed β no gaps around chimney at roof penetration
F β For Inserts Only
- Full-length liner runs from insert collar to chimney cap β confirmed by installer
- Liner diameter matches insert collar size
- Top plate and rain cap installed at chimney top
- Surround/trim panel seals the fireplace opening around the insert
G β Safety Devices
- Carbon monoxide detector: installed on the same floor as the stove, within 10 ft of sleeping areas
- CO detector: fresh battery or hardwired β test the alarm button right now
- Smoke detector: in the room with the stove
- Smoke detectors: in each sleeping room and hallway per IRC R314
- All smoke detectors tested β all working
H β Ready for Inspector
- Attic access or ceiling space is accessible if inspector needs to verify chimney clearances
- Stepladder available if inspector needs elevated access
- Stove installation manual on hand (inspector may reference it)
